About Color Shade

Our Story

Color Shade Paint & Coatings was founded in 2007 by Lisa and Robert Herrera, both lifelong residents of the Charlotte area. Robert spent 20 years managing paint departments at national chains before deciding to open an independent store that could offer better service and more knowledgeable staff. Lisa brought her background in interior design and a sharp eye for color that customers still rely on today.

What started as a single storefront on Monroe Road has grown into a trusted supplier for residential painters, commercial contractors, and property management companies across the Carolinas. We have stayed independent and family-owned because it lets us focus on what matters: helping customers get the right product for the job.

What We Offer

We carry paints and coatings from Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, PPG, and Behr, along with specialty lines like Rust-Oleum, Zinsser, and Minwax. Our computerized color matching system can match any swatch, chip, or sample within minutes, and we mix custom colors on site while you wait.

Beyond paint, we stock brushes, rollers, drop cloths, tape, caulk, sandpaper, and everything else you need to prep and finish a job. Contractors appreciate our one-stop approach — no more running to three different stores for a single project.

Our Team

Our staff of 9 includes certified color consultants and product specialists who can advise on coverage rates, surface preparation, and product compatibility. We do not just sell paint — we help you choose the right product and the right process for a finish that lasts.

For billing questions or account statements, contact our office at billing@colorshade.com. We process payments by check, credit card, and ACH transfer for trade accounts.
